Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 July 2026

Pool Compliance Melbourne is operated by CertCycle ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you use this website or book a service through us. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

When you request a quote or make a booking, we typically collect:

  • Your name and contact phone number.
  • Your property suburb or address.
  • Whether your enquiry relates to a pool or a spa.
  • Your preferred time to be contacted or for an inspection to occur.
  • Any additional details you choose to provide, such as details about your barrier or a specific compliance deadline.

We may also collect standard technical information automatically when you browse this website, such as your general location, browser type, and pages viewed, typically through analytics tools, for the purpose of understanding how our website is used.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange a quote or booking.
  • To coordinate scheduling with an independent, BPC-registered pool safety inspector on your behalf.
  • To send reminders relevant to your booking, such as your 30-day council lodgement deadline and four-year re-inspection renewal date.
  • To communicate with you about your booking, including by phone, SMS or email.
  • To improve our website and services.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Calls may be recorded

Phone calls to our booking line may be recorded for training, quality assurance, and dispute resolution purposes. By calling us, you consent to this recording. If you'd prefer not to be recorded, please let us know at the start of the call and we'll accommodate this where reasonably possible.

Who we share your information with

As a booking service, we share relevant booking details — your name, contact number, address, and pool or spa type — with the independent, BPC-registered pool safety inspector arranged to attend your property. This is necessary for the inspector to contact you, attend the correct address, and carry out the inspection.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights, or to trusted service providers who help us operate this website and business (such as hosting providers, form-processing services, or communications platforms), under obligations to keep it confidential.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, using appropriately secured systems and limiting access to personnel and contractors who need it to provide our services.

Data retention

We retain booking and contact information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, including tracking your four-year re-inspection cycle, and to meet any legal, accounting or reporting obligations. If you no longer wish us to retain your details, contact us and we will delete or de-identify your information where we're not required to retain it.

Access and correction

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time by contacting us at bookings@poolcompliancemelbourne.com.au. We'll respond to reasonable requests within a reasonable timeframe.

Cookies and analytics

This website may use cookies and similar technologies, including third-party analytics tools, to understand how visitors use the site and to improve its performance. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect some site functionality.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first atbookings@poolcompliancemelbourne.com.au so we can try to resolve it directly. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
